The municipality of Urique is located in the southwest of the State of Chihuahua, in the Sierra Tarahumara, bordering to the north with the Municipality of Bocoyna, to the southeast with Batopilas and Guachochi and to the west with Guazaparez and Choix Sinaloa. The capital is located at latitude 27 13', longitude 107 55', at an altitude of 549 meters above sea level.
From Chihuahua City, you can take the famous CHEPE, the railroad offers tourists first class express and economy class www.chepe.com (for rates and schedules), it is the only passenger train in Mexico, the train makes stops at the following stations, Cuauhtémoc, Creel, Divisadero (Urique), here is located the Barrancas del Cobre Adventure Park, with incredible viewpoints and the 3rd largest cable car in the world, as well as alternatives for adventure tourism, such as the largest zip line system in the country with 7 circuits, the largest of 1, ATVs, bicycle, among other activities. Posada Barrancas (Urique) and Bahuichivo (Urique), the CHEPE route from the capital to the Bahuichivo station is approximately 355 km. From here you can go to the town of Cerocahui, 18 km to the south, where you will find all the tourist services you need such as hotels, cabins, small restaurants and guided tours that you can hire to visit Cerro del Gallego, one of the main attractions, or descend to the town of Urique, which is located at the bottom of the ravine, 54 km from the train station. These two sections are dirt roads.
