The first temple called Sacred Heart of Jesus was built around 1910. It is located in the place now occupied by the Parish House. The style of this temple is American, since it was built when the Timber Industry was at its peak in the region. This temple deserves recognition since it is a building that symbolizes the history of our City and the faith of most of the people of Madeira.
