Without a doubt, the most beautiful building in the entire Sierra Tarahumara is the church of the Jesuit Mission of Santo Ángel Custodio de Satevó, which dates back to the late 17th century. It is worth noting the fact that it was built in the middle of the ravine, 7 kilometers downriver from the town of Batopilas. Perhaps with the idea that the wealth of the mines in the area would accommodate a large population.
Other buildings of historical, cultural and architectural interest are the Temple of the Virgen del Carmen; the Barffuson and Morales houses, which date from the 18th century; the Bigleer house and the municipal presidency building itself, built in the 19th century. It should be noted that the old aqueduct is still in use.
