The first stone was laid on February 15, 1942. Construction was completed in 1947. The main attraction of this temple is the Holy Cross itself, which the Franciscan Friars brought with them. The Holy Cross survived the fire that destroyed the temple in 1808. Inside the temple we can admire works of sacred art from the 18th century, such as oil paintings, sculptures and the baptismal font.
