Cuchillo Parado

A short distance from Coyame is Cuchillo Parado. The name was suggested by some vertical rocks found on the banks of the Conchos River. The name of Toribio Ortega, a native of Cuchillo Parado and precursor of the revolutionary movement, is famous in the region.

There is a museum dedicated to the Mexican Revolution in this town, and every November 14, the three branches of the State Government come together with a very important cultural and civic program to pay tribute to General Toribio Ortega.
