Cathedral and Mission of Guadalupe

The Cathedral was built in 1941 and contains a stained glass window dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe. Attached to the Cathedral and in good condition, is the old Mission of Guadalupe de los Mansos in Paso del Río del Norte, dating from 1659, the oldest building in Ciudad Juárez. Cleofas Calleros, a keen historian, called the small church "The Queen of the Missions" because it was the first in the area. It was founded by Fray García de San Francisco, for the evangelization of the Mansos Indians.
