Our Lady of Guadalupe of the Paso del Norte, would ultimately become the Cathedral.
In this mission, various groups of indigenous people from the region were indoctrinated under the mandate of Fray García de San Francisco. Soon, this point would become a mandatory stop for parishioners, merchants, and anyone traveling the old Camino Real, a route that stretches from the north of Mexico City to the west of Texas and New Mexico. The Cathedral boasts the architectural simplicity of other Franciscan missions: devoid of ostentation but with a beautiful interior space. The stained glass window stands out, with a more modern style, as does the roof with its intricately carved and polychromatic geometric motifs.
