Some History

This municipality delimits the border with the states of Texas in the United States and with the Mexican state of Coahuila. It was only created on December 11, 1937. It is a place where the San Carlos River and the San Antonio River meet with the Bravo River. In this place the Chihuahuan Desert can be seen in its entirety, delimiting the imposing Santa Elena Canyon with the Big Bend National Park.

Local culture

Food

The railroad arrived and the local diet diversified. They incorporated beef and chicken, fruits, vegetables, fish and seafood. Estación Divisadero is famous for its delicious flour or corn gorditas, filled with roast meat, red and stuffed chiles.
